Individual Tours

Tours of Van Cortlandt House Museum are available on a self-guided basis during museum hours. Volunteer docents are often available for guided tours on the weekend and through special arrangement. Please call or e-mail Van Cortlandt House Museum for up-to-date availability or to arranged for a guided tour.

Self-guided tours take approximately 15 minutes depending on the visitor's interest level. The Museum staff is often available to answer questions following your tour and you are always welcome to send questions to us at Van Cortlandt House Museum.

Adult Group Tours

Group tours of Van Cortlandt House Museum are available during museum hours but require prior notice. Guided tours of the Museum are given by volunteer docents so we need at least two weeks notice to schedule your tour. Admission fees for group tours are the same as general admission fees. School Tours

Tours for school groups are conducted by the Van Cortlandt House Museum Educator by appointment only. School tours last approximately 2 hours and focus on your choice of two themes: the life of a child growing up in the 18th century, Growing Up in Little Yonkers; and the life of a solider during the Revolutionary War, The Recruiting Serjeant. Children's Group Tours

Tours for children's groups are the same as a school group program. These tours are suitable for home school associations, day camps, after school programs, Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops. The Van Cortlandt House Museum Educator can, in most cases, tailor a program to suit your needs.
